The latest Audi R8 road car to hit the stage is the 2011 RENM R8 V10 RMS Spyder—optimized-grade performance of a full-fledged high-speed motorsport vehicle combined with state-of-the-art aerodynamic components. A reduced weight coupled with improved handling, acceleration and breaking dynamics makes the RENM a model unlike any other previous Audi R8 Spyder predecessor. Power is achieved through a V10 5.2 liter engine capable of a staggering 592 HP (113.8 HP per liter) while increased to 600 PS (441 kW) 585 Newton meters. Light-weight carbon Kevlar features bring the RENM further in its optimal automobile performance—front and rear areas of the aero kit, in particular, that include revamped front and rear grilles, a front splitter, break cooled chambers and a rear diffuser.
The upgraded Spyder, in addition, comes with an ECU recalibration, a height-adjustable suspension that’s race-hydraulic, carbon fiber air intake, performance exhaust that’s light-weight and upscale ceramic breaks. With a push of a button, the new Spyder model’s ride height and exhaust valve system are controlled. Translated to real-world driving conditions, its Racelight 20 inch diameter wheels (x11 rear) and Superlight 19 inch diameter wheels (x9 front) were developed in partnership with ATS Leichtmetallrader) to allow maximized performance for both street and race circuit use.
